Rayas Collective lightweight, durable, handwoven basket bags are made in El Salvador by a small, women-led team of experienced weavers using traditional techniques.

Each basket bag is made from 100% HDPE plastic strands, combining new and recycled materials. HDPE (high-density polyethylene) is one of the most commonly recycled plastic polymers in the world and is known for its strength and durability. This material makes our basket bags waterproof, lightweight, UV-resistant, and extremely durable.

Whether it’s rain or shine, the large basket bag from Rayas Collective is the perfect size for travel, beach picnics, and weekend shopping. Designed to withstand everyday wear and tear, each handle consists of a single continuous strand that is wrapped completely around the basket and welded at a single point. This construction ensures exceptional strength and prevents the handles from tearing—even when carrying heavier loads.

Please note that each basket bag is handmade and one-of-a-kind. Therefore, slight variations in weave, size, and handle length are part of the craftsmanship and contribute to the unique character of each piece.
