Artisanal, expressive and full of detail. This lidded Shanghai Weave basket takes the shape of a duck. Head and body are densely woven in fine rattan, while dozens of individually shaped, overlapping pieces of split bamboo form the wings and feathers.

A carved beak and glass eyes give the bird its character. The duck lifts off to reveal a woven basket underneath, making it as functional as it is decorative. Its honey, green and yellow tones look especially good against lighter interiors, on a console, shelf or sideboard.
